The Material Girl's Coming HERE!

It's official...Abu Dhabi is a GREAT place to see the best of the best perform live!!  So many great acts come here...Coldplay, Beyonce, Britney, Janet Jackson....Madonna!!!  We were all over it last Monday at noon to ensure we got tickets to her concert on Yaz Island.  It was an in sync bbm-ing "you ready?"..."I'm ready...aaaaaannnndddd booked!!" sort of thing!  haha

Then just yesterday Joey found out the Eagles are coming to Dubai!!  Very Cool.  Oh, did I forget to mention Elton John too?!  Yup, we're booked!

Feb Happenings

Somehow, the month of February is always a bit of a blur.  Poor February.  So, with that I've decided to really focus on making the last 8 days of February really count!  (well, 9 b/c I started yesterday!)  I've got a goal to wake up by 6am every morning and fully utilize my day...which means I HAVE to be in bed and hopefully asleep by 11.  Yesterday was day one of my goal...and I succeeded!  Even woke up at 5am!!  So here's to the next 8 days.

So far this month, we've really been work oriented.  Me with teaching yoga all over town and studying french...and Joey with his work and training for a triathlon on March 3.   Funny how fast time goes by when you're going from one agenda to another with prep and planning.

Anyways, other than the work aspect, here's a few of our feb highlights:

Sailing with our YogaJuice friends
Love this color scheme!
Ferrari Rossa at Ferrari World w/ Helge

The Dead Sea

After a month of being pretty complacent in Abu Dhabi, Joey and I decided we were in need of a little local adventure.

So off to Jordan we went...

After a 3.5 hour flight, we arrived in Amman, Jordan at 6:05 pm (2 hours earlier than AD time, which is 9 hours ahead of ET).  A friend of Joey's recommended his driver to us, so there at the airport we were greeted by some true Arab hospitality.  Bashar took us first to check into our hotel, then to explore the city and find a little dinner.  The next day we continued our exploration on Amman, then headed to the Dead Sea for a couple nights.

Here's some highlights from the trip:

A local eatery, Amman Jordan
City of Amman, Jordan
Olive Tree, Kempenski Hotel, Dead Sea
Exploring Amman

Amphitheater
Ammani Man
Traditional Arabic lunch

Enjoying the local wine.

Ancient Ruines, Amman
Visiting a Mosque

Golf Pros Hook a Desert Wind

Britney, ColdPlay, Michael Schumacher, The Hulk, Evan Rachel Wood, Novak Djokovic, Duran Duran....and this weekend Tiger Woods descended on Abu Dhabi!   Well, Tiger and about 20 other greatest names in golf right now!  (Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Luke Donald, etc, etc...)

Joey enjoying the sol (beer and sun! lol)
The European Tour took to the Abu Dhabi Golf Club this weekend with a tournament sponsored by HSBC.  The greens were beautifully manicured, the crowds relaxing with drinks in the much missed warmth of the sun (or following closely to the prowling attraction), and the players were in good spirits as they enjoyed the Westin Hotel amenities, took a few swings on the driving range or mosey-ed around the stunning18 hole course playing their rounds.
Tiger (near the bottom right) enjoying a post 9 hole snack :)

Abu Dhabi Golf club truly is a jewel of emerald here in the land of sand.

Ray's Bar, 63rd Floor of our neighboring Jumierah Hotel
Forgot that I hadn't posted anything about New Year's Eve!  It was a bit of a blur (boo vodka) , but we did have the pleasure and joy of ringing in 2012 with our sweet friends here in Abu Dhabi!

Tapas, Drinks and apparently good conversation! haha

After a few drinks and lots of silliness at Ray's, we headed over near Marina Mall (not far from our apt at all!) for a little outdoor concert overlooking the water.

Oh yeah, the band was....COLDPLAY!!!
Clubbing at Emirates Palace...3am we were over it. haha
